Project update 11-19-08
Well the project is taking off! I have been getting emails from all kinds of artist that want to participate! As stated in earlier post I mentioned that we have 50 helmets for the project. As of 7pm 11-19-2008 we have following helmets available..

The reserved helmets for the big guns. I am working on a few and I need to make sure I have something for them to work on :)
I would like to thank EVERYONE that has offered to help. Especially eFX Collectibles! Without them we would not be moving forward.
Speaking of helmets, the last word I received on the helmet delivery date was mid late Jan/Early Feb 09.

1st Helmet dropped off!
The 1st helmet of the project is now in the hands of the artist! I had the pleasure of dropping off a bucket to West Coast Choppers in Long Beach, Ca. We should have something really cool to look at in 30 to 60 days!

Helmets have been DONATED!!!
I received a surprising phone call yesterday from EFX Collectibles (Lucas License holder). EFX heard of our project and they want to join us in this endevor.

They have agreed to donate 50 ANH (Hero) Helmets for the auction! So a big thank you goes out to EFX for stepping up and helping the kids and Make A Wish!!
We do not have a firm ETA on the helmets arrival, but it should be sometime in January 2009.
So work will continue to find artist and celebs to work on these buckets!

Just a quick status report.
1. We have been given permission to recast a helmet for the project. We should start casting soon.
2. Talked to Make a Wish and they love this idea and are on board.
3. Lesley F. from the Southern California has agreed to help gather sponsors for some of the funding that we will need.

Project status 8-21-2008
This project is about 2 weeks old. Here are the events I need to work on..
1. 501st - Received permission to continue with the project.
2. Lucasfilm - Email sent for various request.
3. Helmets - John Bush has agreed to donate ALL the helmets.
4. Bases - Damien Metz has agreed to produce the helmet bases.
5. Corporate Sponsors - We will need a few corporate sponsors to help with some shipping and packaging cost. Someone is helping with that.
6. Helpers - Will be looking for a couple helpers to help with some coordination of events.
7. Private donations - We may open to private donation from 501st members to help with the materials and shipping cost.
I do not have a auction date yet. We are looking at doing the auction at C5 and we are in talks with Lucasfilm about that. We will need a lot of time to get all the helmets shipped to our HM's and have them worked on. Once they are done, I will secure the helmets untill the auction.
